Summer Meals 2026

All sites closed on Friday, July 3, for Independence Day (observed)

The Summer Meals program provides free lunch to children and teens ages 18 and under.
IMPORTANT: In accordance with congregate setting guidelines, meal spaces will be organized at each site.
Those using the service MUST eat their lunch at the Summer Meals site.

July 14, from 4:30 to 6:30 pm at Central Park
July 28, from 11 am to 1 pm at Steinmetz Park
August 11, from 4:30 to 6:30 pm at Hillhurst Park
August 25, from 12 to 2 pm at Jerry Burrell Park

CREATE Community Studios' weekly arts & crafts program will run from July 6 to August 28 at several of our Summer Meals sites!
Mondays from 12 – 2 pm, Southgate Apartments
Tuesdays from 11 am – 1 pm, Steinmetz Park
Wednesdays from 12 – 2 pm, Hillhurst Park
Thursdays from 12 – 4 pm, Central Park
Fridays from 12 – 2 pm, Jerry Burell Park
When school is out for the summer, a point of access to healthy meals for children and youth is off the table. Our Summer Meals program has been filling the gap for over thirty years. With several sites across the city of Schenectady, the program provides meals to hundreds of children and youth while offering an opportunity to spend time outdoors in the community.
Thank you to our incredible volunteers, partners, and participants for making Summer Meals 2025 a success! This past summer, we distributed nearly 8,500 meals across 10 sites in Schenectady, serving an average of 150 meals per day.
Join us again this summer as we serve lunches, spread smiles, and lend a helping hand to our community!
